Whenever I hear "boho", Miley Cyrus (before she chopped her hair) would always come up first in my mind. She has always been my fashion icon especially since I'm a fan of laid-back looks (in which she was rockin' by the way). When I got my floral kimono from Fabulousa CDO's shop, it reminded me a photo of Miley Cyrus.
I actually wanted to do a Style Steal (which I'll be starting soon enough) but because I couldn't find my old bell bottom jeans, I dropped that thought. But due to such inspiration, I thought of reinventing the look to my usual style.

January flew by so fast, I almost couldn't believe it's the end of the month already! Pardon me for the hiatus (again). You see, requirements are coming in and out of nowhere and it'll always end up eating my available time for blogging. To make up for it, I thought I'd do a "January Monthly Faves" post. It'll serve as an update on what's been invading my wardrobe recently and whatnot.
KIMONO BLAZERS/CARDIGANS. OMG guys! Kimono blazers are super adorable and chic! I also love the floral print of the blazers because, well, I'm a floral print maniac. Whenever lazy days get to you, just put on any kimono blazer with a white/black tank and you're good to go! I'm labeling these kimono blazers part of my style express.
ACID WASHED & TATTERED HIGH-WAISTED SHORTS. I scored this high waist shorts from SM Department Store; it was on sale when I bought it. I'm really excited for summer time and when I saw this while walking around the mall, I just couldn't help myself. Summer, come quickly!
BUTTON-DOWN SHIRTS & LONG CHAINED NECKLACE. Button-down shirts will always be a fashion staple, especially for a laid-back person like me because it's so easy to incorporate with tons of different styles. I love this white button-down because it looks very classy.
I also noticed that the usual accessories I bring with me are in the colors black and gold. When I saw this black and gold chained necklace, I just knew I had to have it in my collection.
FLORAL PRINT PANTS. I don't own a lot of printed jeans, not because I hate them, but because I'm not really "IN" to it. This floral print pants had me thinking otherwise. It's nice to spice things up a bit. It's part of my faves because it's the first floral pants I've ever had! HOORAH FOR CHANGE!
White Button-Down Shirt and Floral Pants from Levi's
FLORAL RUCKSACK. I received this last Christmas and I literally jumped for joy when my BFF&F&F&F&F&F... gave this to me! It's a floral bag and it can carry all my stuff! Give me one good reason not to put this up my faves!
Floral Rucksack from SHOEBOX
INTERCHANGEABLE WATCH. The same BFF&F&F&F&F gave this to me last Christmas. I love interchangeable watches because it won't require me to buy a different watch that often. When I'm tired of how my watch looks, I can just change the strap and it'll be as if I bought a new one. Can you spot the MAIN REASON why I included this in my faves? :)
BENSIMON SNEAKERS. In my previous post, I blogged about why I'm loving my bennies. If you haven't read it yet, click these links: EASY GOING | PERFECTLY IMPERFECT! BENSIMON CDO
BABY LIPS COLOR. I'm actually not a beauty junkie, heck, I'm not even close to being one! Make up has never been my cup of tea but since I don't want to be ignorant about it, I would buy few basic products and try learning how to use it. My all-time fave beauty product is Maybelline's BABY LIPS! I would never be seen wearing lipstick because I don't like how it feels on my lips, I use tinted lip balms instead and in this case, Baby lips Color. One of my baby lips, berry crush, had it's packaging destroyed already due to my constant use.
DRAWING EYE BROW PENCIL. This Drawing Eye Brow Pencil works wonders! If you're a newbie like me, you have to try this product! It's very inexpensive (less than P100.00) for a useful beauty tool!
PEPPER LUNCH & BELGIAN WAFFLES. If you haven't tried these two yet, go and have one! Let its taste tell you why they're on my faves!
PEPPER LUNCH BEEF PEPPER RICE (P198.00)
CARAMEL VANILLA TEA + RED VELVET. I've been always a fan of Chingketea's Hot Teas and Milk teas. You guys should try their Caramel Vanilla Tea and pair it up with their red velvet cupcakes for a delicious treat!
Here are my most played songs for the month of January
G-Dragon - WHO YOU
Jason Derulo - Marry Me
Ellie Goulding - Burn
Well, I guess that's it for the month of January. I really hope I could do this regularly, fingers crossed!
Now that the holidays are over, I'm trying to transition myself gradually to prevent holiday hangover. Because I didn't want to procrastinate, I went ahead and do some requirements due on the 2nd week of January. I was able to finish most of the stuff on my list, I gave myself one last day of fun and relaxation as a reward.
Since I'm a self-proclaimed "Laid-back Queen", I wanted to wear something casual and comfy. Once again, I took out my fashion staple, button-down. This denim button-down is surprisingly very loose which I happen to like a lot.
I just finished watching Shingkeki no Kyoujin (Attack on Titan). So, yeah. I got myself Eren Jaeger's key necklace. FYI, yes, I like watching anime! Teehee.
Wearing my bensimon sneakers really makes me wanna sing "Pumped up kicks" for some reason. I love this pair of sneakers so much because it's really light! I've been using it since morning and I really felt as if I'm not wearing shoes on! It's definitely worth the price!
Another year, another set of adventures to face. I don't know about you guys but I'm so excited for 2014! I'm expecting a lot of things to happen, dreams to come true, goals to achieve, and moments to cherish this year. It may not seem like it but I love new years, it's the perfect time to start anew.
I would like to share to you guys my top 2 new year's resolution:
1. Face my fears head-on. It may not seem like it but I do have tons of fears which I conceal from my family and friends because I want to face it on my own but the thing is, I tend to procrastinate solving those problems. I intentionally delay acknowledging problems after problems after problems. It is because I fear that even if I try to resolve those things, I would fail. I'm a very prideful person and failure is one of my enemies. During 2013, I realized that even if I couldn't give the best solution to every problem that I have, at least I faced it head-on, and I guess that's what matters the most.
2. Express what I feel more with my words. Because I'm an introvert type of person, I tend to seclude myself and my problems from other people. Sometimes, whenever I have concerns, I keep it to myself and assume that the people whom I'm concerned of knows it. One of my marketing instructors (and probably the BEST) said that in order for other people understand, what we really want and how we feel, we need to communicate with them well. We cannot always assume that people would understand what we're trying to say/show them. For them to fully understand the situation, we have to carefully explain it to them.
I actually have a long list of things I would want to change for me to be a better person but it would take me forever to do so. Anyway, what's your top 2 new year's resolution? I'd really love to know!
Moving on to the outfit. The past few months, I've been really obsessed with button-down shirts. My closet is being dominated by it. I actually am supposed to blog about another outfit post, where I am also wearing a button-down shirt, but I had to retake the photos. Anyway, button-down shirts are fashion staples. They can be easily worn with a pair of pants, skirts, basically anything!
To match the holiday season, I wore a pair burgundy pants to give it a bit of color.
I received this uber edgy clutch from my friends at SprucePH. It's an Alexander McQueen inspired clutch which I've been dying to have!
2013 went by so fast, it's hard to believe that it's about to end. A lot of good things happened to me this year and as much as I would want to hold on to 2013 a bit longer, I have to face the new year hoping that it'll be as awesome or even better than this year. I have so many things to be grateful of; countless of blessings showered upon me, overflowing me with happiness despite some difficulties I had to face. Everything was unexpected, but I know it was planned already by God.
Perhaps, to some people, 2013 is one of the worst years they've had especially since Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda engraved sadness to Philippines. We actually have the option to mourn for days and blame leaders for not having direct response to the situation, but we could always think positively. Through typhoon yolanda, we now know how to appreciate little things, we saw how people from in and outside the country value each other by giving donations or doing campaigns to raise funds for yolanda victims, etc. If Yolanda didn't bother you as much as the victims, maybe personal problems gave you a hard time to appreciate this year; instead of forming friendships somehow it turned out the other way, maybe all the things you've expected never happened, your bucketlist for 2013 is left unchecked, or for any reason it might be, cheer up! Maybe everything is designed to happen on 2014.
Few hours from now, 2013 will be leaving to make way for 2014. Let's rock this new year! Do not let disappointments from the latter year drag you down. It's the perfect time to make a fresh start!
Belated Merry Christmas everyone! For starters, I was supposed to post this yesterday, in time for the Christmas day, but because my head started to ache (stupid migraine), I slept early and didn't continue blogging. How was your Christmas day? Hope it wen't fine because mine did. Although it wasn't the Christmas day I've been expecting, at least I was able to take a breather amidst the hectic schedule. Well, Christmas is all about that. Getting together with the family, exchanging gifts and laughter, making memories; I couldn't ask for a better way to spend the Holiday.
We did nothing fancy during Christmas day; we all gathered for Noche Buena, exchanged gifts, went to see a movie the morning after; basically the usual and normal Christmas day celebration. The fun starts next year! So stay tuned as I will be blogging about it!
So, let me blab a thing or two about what Christmas day really is for me. It'd be a cliche if I were to say that we should be reminded of Jesus rather than Santa because Christmas day is Jesus' birthday. Yes, it's true, but if we only focus on that fact alone, it'll just degrade the true essence of Christmas.
For me, Christmas is a time of gathering. Isn't it amazing how throughout the entire year, we preoccupy ourselves with tons of work and at the least, for a day, we can all gather and share happy moments with our family and relatives? Christmas enables the family to catch up with things, to be able to reconnect with the whole family. Second, Christmas is a time of giving. Human as we are, it's so difficult to give more than want to receive more. I mean, who wouldn't, right? We can never top what Christ offered at the cross in order to save us because we're not like Him; divine, holy, and perfect. That actually is the challenge, in our own ways, how can we offer up something just to make others feel saved? It may not be as grand as donating a big amount of money to the marginalized, have you tried sharing your meals to the poor? Either way, you could be a hero in your own ways.
Moving on to the outfit. For this look, I went with a very comfy ensemble (as usual). Since it's a bit more chilly from where I live, I chose to wear a cream knitted top and paired it with a floral skort just to give my look a pop of color. I finished my look with my floral union jack bag and plain oxfords.
BENSIMON IS FINALLY HERE! Comfort and style merged in one pair! Could things get any better? SprucePH, being the first to introduce Bensimon in CDO, is now offering these beauties! Last November 29, 2013, Lai Serrano invited me to an afternoon with other bloggers and photographers as we set our eyes on these bad boys.
Bensimon sneakers are all about style and comfort, it's also packed with interesting facts! No two bennies (as what we'd like to call the sneakers) are identical. Yes, you've heard it right (or read it right, whatever). Usually, we see clean edges on our sneakers thinking how sleek, clean and perfect it looks; Bensimon sets apart from the ordinary sneakers through its imperfection. You see the rubber edges on it? Those aren't factory defects, those are made on purpose. It was initially planned for the makers to clean the rubber edges, but since no one seemed to be bothered by it, they pursued with having it that way. Because of that, Bensimon is known for having a perfectly imperfect sneakers.
Oh, you can bring these pairs ANYWHERE since they can be folded. Carry those goodies inside your bag and wear it to school if you feel like it. Hassle free! Got those beauties dirty? Throw them in your washing machine, it's fine.
There are more interesting facts about these sneakers, you can also read its story on making it to the fashion industry by going to their website: Bensimon PH.
Below is a photo collage of the bennies available in stores!
We were told to be in a "Parisian-inspired outfit" but since I had a class after the event, I had to excuse myself from the dress code. No #ootd for this post :(
Here's me with the other fab bunch. Local bloggers and photographers in Cagayan de Oro City.
This week, I'm deciding to finally get my own bennies, but since there were a lot of colors and styles to choose from, I really needed a time to think. Reminiscing MYOH? Anyway, I'm stuck between choosing yellow or red as of the moment, but then, there's teal, PURPLE, navy blue... I need to decided fast!
Well, I guess that's all for today! Get your own bennies NOW!
