Lazy and Simple

Dressing down is becoming more and more mainstream for me. Yes, yes, laziness caught me again but hey, at least I feel comfortable in what I'm wearing, right? For me, one doesn't have to dress extravagantly most of the time especially if it doesn't make him/her comfortable and confident. The trick to presenting yourself; whether your clothes are simple, lazy, and perhaps thrifted, is through comfort and confidence.

I took out the first top I saw in my closet and paired it with the black shorts with a strip of leopard print, I recently blogged about. It was easy for me to pair those two up because most of my clothes are in a nude shade, allowing me to mix and match pieces with ease.
I intended to wear heels but since I'm too "lazy" to wear one, I took out my ol' gladiators which I haven't been using for a while now.

Denim Love

This is what I wore for my "not-so-little-anymore" brother's graduation dinner. It was a cold evening so I had to put on some jacket just to keep me warm. It turns out I'm getting more and more hyped with denims.

XUHS batch 2013 graduated yesterday. I feel so proud and happy for my little brother and his batchmates for surviving 4 years of the Atenean way. Kudos to all graduates!
To celebrate the occasion, we had a lovely dinner together. To my surprise, Jaztine's girlfriend, together with her mom, aunt, and friend, visited us. Yes, my heart broke (and is still breaking by the way) by the view. The little kid whom I used to fight a lot with, now is an upcoming college student with a girlfriend. If you have a younger brother/sister, you'll know how I feel.
Matching braces, oh gosh. Kill me now! This really hurts a lot. Anyway, I cannot argue with the situation now. All I can do, as a sister, is to give my never-ending support for him, I guess. T_T
Let me stop from being too emotional. Meet the retarded side of the three of us. For Jara's case, she's been like that since birth! Kidding^^
Moving on to the outfit post! Since I do not favor taking outfit shots at night, I took these photos by the next day. I planned on taking the photos after my morning run but I actually skipped my run because the rain randomly poured down so early in the morning. I could have waited for it to pass by but I do not like running beneath the summer's sun due to the fact that my skin is too sensitive and could get dark in just a matter of minutes (exaggerating). Instead of pursuing my daily routine after the rain went by, I took my car keys out, went to my favorite spot, and took the photos for this post abruptly.
I'm admiring denims lately, I often wear it especially during rush hours, and lazy days. It's the best thing to wear for comfort seekers but not particularly at this time of the season, well, unless it rains like this morning. Yes, I know I'm behind the denim craze but it'd be to shallow to judge its use by trend. I think denims are classic and will always be a fashion staple.
I was supposed to wear a different shoe for this look, I just got it yesterday and I really want to wear it for this outfit. Unfortunately, my legs were battered and tortured yesterday from my 2-hour run and badminton game with friends. I have a very weak lower body and I have to adjust to it. No new heels for this look, maybe for the next one?

Take it easy

Basic and simple, you can say it's lazy but that's the whole point of it. I've been being lazy on some particular stuff lately and sometimes it could reflect on the outfit I'm wearing. I also skipped the vintage-y effect for my photos (the red highlights you're seeing isn't because of photoshop, I picked a flower and placed it in front of the lens, not so lazy for creativity!) for the same reason. I don't know, maybe because I got fed up being responsible and meticulous on some of my MAJOR WANNABE subjects last semester which made me feel I want to slack sometimes, you know?

I was supposed to blog about this yesterday but thanks to the hellish weather, this post was delayed. It's funny because I wasn't feeling lazy yesterday but somehow the weather wanted me to be so I wouldn't do anything productive for the day. Wow! Thank you mother nature for the support! (Insert sarcastic smile here)
I actually like this look. It's simple and comfortable, and still presentable. It really is true what they say about simplicity being beautiful.
(By the way, I just realized I look like I'm not wearing any pants on! I actually am wearing tattered short pants but, oh well)

Before I end, let me share why I got my ipad mini because I did promise to blog about it.
It's been months since my 2nd Generation iPod touch died from battery depletion. It's hard for me to actually leave the house without bring my iPod with me because I've grown accustomed to bringing one. I've had it since 3rd year High School (that explains why I got the crappy 2nd generation model) and some of my memories in HS are in there.
I used my dad's extra tab temporarily just to suffice my need for music and web browsing but it had me missing my iPod touch more (Drama much)
I negotiated with my dad about my trip to Thailand. All of the stuff I need for a week's worth of vacation were already set but due to our FS defense, I had no choice but to cancel it. So my dad sold the ticket and bought me an iPad mini. The extra money I had was supposed to be used for a new lens but since I have a very annoying sister, I used it to buy her a gift instead: an iPod touch 5th generation in PINK!
I actually love the fact I chose the iPad mini over the iPod touch 5 and iPad 4. It's not too small to use for web browsing and not too big for me not to bring it anywhere! It's perfect for blogging too!
Both the new iPod touch and iPad mini are so thin and light!
I really am saying good bye to my fat and old iPod touch, huh? Gotta move on girl, gotta move on. Anyway, I'm planning to make a "What's in my iPad" post soon, I'll make one after I could find me a cutie case for my iPad!
So this is the end of the post and I'm ending it with a photo of the usual, goofy, and weird me. Perfect caption? FREEDOM!
Love lots,
Jassie Adriano ♥

Weekstagram + English41 Video

After making a new blog I promised to myself not to post entries which are too personal or too casual plainly because I don''t intend to share whatever random stuff happens to me which may affect my personal life (by this I mean blogging what I did hour by hour). Well, I'd say otherwise if it's funny though. I love being weird and all.
Since I don't want my blog to be idle, I'm regramming some of my photos from instagram. I'm letting the photos do its work in sharing some blog-worthy moments which happened this week (and more weeks to come).
You can follow me by searching my username: jassieadriano

Oh and by the way, I did promise to share our English Play: Romward and Jubella. My friend was able to upload it online, so here it is! Have fun watching all of us make fools of ourselves! (PS. Sorry for the bad video quality)

The tales of Romward and Jubella

For our English class, we had to present a play in partial fulfillment of our subject's requirements. We didn't want to be boring nor did we want to present an existing play and so my friend who has a knack in script writing, Janine, came up with Jubella (Juliet+Bella) and Romward (Romeo+Edward).

Romward and Jubella is a parody of both Twilight, and Romeo and Juliet. Jubella is a vampire who is carrying the name of the Draculets, and who happens to fall in love with a cowardly werewolf, Romward, a son of the Moontagues. Both Draculets and Moontagues hated each other and tried to break the relationship of Romward and Jubella. As they were about to fight for their names, the Hunters headed by the hunter leader (who basically is fond of hunting werewolves and vampires) appeared to kill both clans. The two families joined forces instead in the hope of killing the hunters before they get killed themselves. Since Romward is a coward, he hid himself throughout the battle while Jubella had to deal with the hunter leader. Jubella was knocked down by the hunter leader and that's when Romward blew his top (and it's funny because in our play, he really blew his top, LITERALLY). Romward defeated the hunter leader but was awfully wounded during the battle. In his last breath, he went closer to Jubella thinking it's okay to die as long as they're together. Minutes passed, Jubella gained conscience and saw the dead body of her lover. She then tried killing herself by waiting for the sun to rise. Years passed both characters are reincarnated and by fate, they met each other again.
I was asked to play the main role, Jubella. We practiced for few rounds and I realized I'd do better as the antagonist's role. I asked Janine's permission to switch my role with Anamae, who was playing the antagonist's part as of that moment. To my surprise, I felt all natural and better doing the hunter's role and so I kept it towards the actual presentation.
FEAR ME! I'M THE HUNTER LEADER!
Jubella and the Hunter leader goofng around before the play started.

The whole class with Sir D.Corbita.

If I could grab a copy of the documentation of our presentation, I'll post it up here so you guys can see our play. We also did a harlem shake cover to release and say goodbye to those sleepless nights of preparing everything in place.

Lots of love,
Jassie Adriano ♥

Out to Play

It's summer time and I'm out to play! It's good to be back also! Now that the "not-so-hellish" week is over, I have about 3 months to focus on blogging, crafting, TRAVELING and lots more! My schedule is pretty much light this month and as for me, a good way to start summer time is with a breezy, floral, summer dress!

Last week, my parents were in Bangkok and I asked them if they could buy me some new clothes since there are tons of stylish but cheap clothes there. They were able to score me this breezy floral, pastel dress and denim jacket. I find it awesome that my parents know what I exactly want, hoorah for observant parents!

I was supposed to go with them on the trip but since ditching our feasibility study defense was impossible, I'm stuck preparing for the d-day. They sold my ticket (#asdfghjkl) and bought me an iPad mini instead, I must say, all's well that ends well!
